VIOLENT VIRA draws inspiration for her music from traumatic yet deeply universal life experiences, as well as from an extraordinary empathy for the world around her. This sensitivity is expressed at both extremes, oscillating between spellbinding melodies and cathartic screams. The Mexican-American singer, born Amy Gonzalez, accompanied by her musicians Anthony Brown and Matt Bolling, has quietly established herself as a hard rock phenomenon, with hundreds of millions of streams and dozens of sold-out concerts.

Born to first-generation Mexican parents, Amy grew up in a mobile home park in Boise, Idaho. Her mother always made sure there was food on the table, but the family had to face the harsh reality of a failing system, made even harsher by merciless winters. Finding refuge in art, she went from listening to Mexican pop giants RBD to becoming obsessed with Selena and Michael Jackson, before later discovering Evanescence, Linkin Park, and Three Days Grace.

Determined to become a singer, she auditioned for *American Idol*, *America’s Got Talent*, and *Tengo Talento*, all while regularly performing on the street with a ukulele. After high school, she stayed with her parents while juggling odd jobs and writing her own songs. Years of effort to make her voice heard finally paid off when “I Don’t Care” went viral in 2021, surpassing 100 million streams on Spotify. She built on that momentum with tracks like “You Wanted More” and “God Complex,” which collectively garnered an additional 60 million streams on Spotify.

Her 2023 EP, “Till’ Death Was Never Enough,” spawned fan favorites “Collar of Truth” and “You’re Not Gone, You’re Just Dead!” She then moved to Texas and signed with MOM+POP. In addition to selling out her headlining tours, she has performed at major festivals, including Aftershock, RIOT Fest, SICK NEW WORLD, Welcome To Rockville, and many others.

Today, VIOLENT VIRA returns with the sound of someone fighting to come back to life against all odds on her debut album, “Lover of a Ghost.”
