GARMONBOZIA presents PURE REASON REVOLUTION + GUEST
The progressive alternative rock band PURE REASON REVOLUTION is back with its new album “Terrifying Angels,” its fourth since returning to the spotlight in 2019. The album will be released on September 25, 2026, and the band will then embark on a headlining tour of the United Kingdom in November 2026. PRR will return to the continent in early 2027 with a new tour and a single stop in France—in Paris.
In keeping with the somewhat softer and more poignant themes of sadness and transience that permeated the 2024 album “Coming up to Consciousness,” the sound of this new album is dark and powerful, rich in wild riffs, unsettling soundscapes, and aggressive, grunge-infused musical layers—all blended, of course, with the transcendent harmonies that are the band’s trademark.
For this album, PRR enlisted the help of some notable collaborators. These include Mariusz Duda (Lunatic Soul) and Kristoffer Gildenlöw, who both played bass on the album, while Bruce Soord (The Pineapple Thief) once again handled the mixing.
The album’s lyrics explore the figure of the angel as a concept that combines both salvation and destruction—symbolizing situations, feelings, and relationships that simultaneously engender transcendence and suffering. A terrifying angel subverts expectations: what we assume to be purely good conceals an unexpected, darker side that is inseparable from the light.
Love, memory, truth, and identity all become, in their own way, terrifying angels throughout the seven diverse tracks on this album. These vast, timeless themes, along with these spectacular images, perfectly complement the imposing grandeur of the music, whose influences include classic grunge from bands such as Nirvana, the Smashing Pumpkins, and Mudhoney.
