Samurai Pizza Cats from Castrop-Rauxel have long since ceased to be an insider tip since releasing their first self-published songs. Founded in 2021 by Daniel Haniß (Electric Callboy), Sebastian Fischer, and Stefan Buchwald (both formerly of Fall Of Gaia), the band quickly built a loyal fan base thanks to their unique sound and high-energy live performances. Since 2021, Stefan Reufer has been the bassist of the Ruhr area band and a permanent member of Samurai Pizza Cats. At the end of 2025, Robin Kemper joined the band as the new drummer, bringing fresh momentum to the Castrop-Rauxel-based lineup.

Musically, the band moves between metalcore and deathcore with electronic influences, standing out through catchy melodies and powerful guitar riffs. Their songs are characterized by a blend of biting humor and profound themes, which adds an extra humorous touch to their name—an allusion to a cult anime series.

With “YOU’RE HELLCOME,” Samurai Pizza Cats released their debut album in 2023. The record was released on September 22 and entered the Top 100 of the German album charts.

In January 2024, the band played a nearly completely sold-out headlining tour across Germany and Austria. At the beginning of 2025, they released two new songs, “Superzero” and “Pandastruck,” and went on the tour of the same name in March.

In August 2025, Samurai Pizza Cats raised the bar even higher. With the song “Fear No Slice,” the band presented themselves in top form once again, showcasing the unmistakable Samurai Pizza Cats style that makes them so unique.

Looking ahead to 2026, the “Samurai Pizza Fest” is already on the calendar. The band’s first-ever festival will take place on March 28, 2026, at the Live Music Hall in Cologne and features an impressive lineup with From Fall to Spring, STVW, and Statefall—sure to make every music fan’s heart beat faster.

Their new album “Press Start” will be released on March 27, 2026, via Century Media Records. With the singles released so far, it sets a clear statement of taking stages beyond national borders, infused with a generous dose of pizza and chaos.
