MEPHORASH is a Swedish black metal band formed in 2010 in Uppsala. Their music is distinguished by an esoteric and ritualistic approach to black metal, combining sonic violence, mystical atmospheres, and occult themes inspired by Kabbalah, Gnosticism, and hermetic traditions.
After a remarkable first demo, the band released their debut album, “Death Awaits You All with Neon Skies Above” (2011), laying the foundations for a universe that is both spiritual and radical. They then developed an ambitious conceptual trilogy with “Chalice of Thagirion” (2016), “1557 – Rites of Nullification” (2017), and “Shem Ha Mephorash” (2019), exploring theological and metaphysical dimensions through an almost liturgical staging. MEPHORASH finally released “Krystl-Ah,” their latest album, in 2023 via Shadow Records.
Renowned for their ceremonial live performances and polished aesthetic, MEPHORASH stands out as a unique band on the contemporary black metal scene, combining conceptual depth with musical intensity.
